Contract - Social Media Contractor
Caraway is seeking a Social Media Contractor (Parental Leave Coverage) to support the execution and reporting of our social media program during a defined parental leave coverage period.
This engagement will focus on the operational execution and performance tracking of Caraway’s social media channels, ensuring content is published accurately, reporting is maintained, and performance insights are surfaced to the internal team. This role requires strong platform fluency, attention to detail, and the ability to apply judgment within established systems and processes.
This is a project-based, temporary engagement focused on supporting existing social workflows. While Caraway’s internal Social team will continue to lead strategy, creative development, and community engagement, this contractor will focus on executional support, reporting, and system maintenance.
Engagement Scope & Key Deliverables
Social Publishing & Execution
- Execute social media publishing based on a pre-defined content calendar provided by the Caraway team
- Utilize Nectar to schedule and publish content across social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.)
- Repurpose existing content for secondary channels (e.g., Pinterest), ensuring platform-specific formatting and optimization
- Ensure accuracy, timing, and quality control of all scheduled content
- Upload and organize social assets across platforms, including short-form video distribution
- Support execution of operational initiatives such as giveaways and gifting programs as needed
- Maintain quality control across captions, tagging, links, and publishing cadence
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Produce weekly and monthly social performance reports using Nectar and existing templates
- Track and compile key metrics including reach, engagement, follower growth, and content performance
- Maintain reporting dashboards and ensure data accuracy
- Provide summary insights highlighting notable performance trends and content learnings
- Support competitive benchmarking and industry tracking
Trend & Conversation Monitoring
- Monitor social platforms for relevant trends, conversations, and cultural moments
- Identify and share timely observations and opportunities that go beyond surface-level metrics, and identify meaningful patterns or shifts
- Track competitor activity and notable shifts in the social landscape
Systems & Data Management
- Utilize existing social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Nectar)
- Maintain tagging, categorization, and tracking systems within reporting platforms
- Maintain brand social asset organization in AIR
- Ensure consistent organization and documentation of social content and performance data
- Support upkeep of social analytics workflows and dashboards
Operational Support
- Maintain day-to-day operational workflows that support social publishing and reporting
- Track and update manual metrics such as follower counts and benchmarks
- Assist with executional needs tied to campaigns, launches, and social initiatives
Experience & Capabilities
- 1–3 years of experience in social media execution, content operations, or digital marketing
- Hands on experience with social media analytics and reporting tools (Nectar, Dash Hudson, Emplifi, or similar)
- Familiarity with native social platform analytics
- Strong working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging social platforms
- Comfort working in reporting dashboards, spreadsheets, and analytics tools
- High attention to detail and ability to manage repeatable workflows with consistency
Contract Type: Fixed-term independent consulting engagement (4 months, with possibility for conversion) Classification: Non-employee, Independent Contractor (1099 Contract Engagement). The engagement does not constitute employment with the organization. Expected start May 18th, 2026. Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour, based on experience, structured as a professional services fee under an independent contractor / consulting agreement (not as salary). The independent contractor will be responsible for their own taxes, insurances and benefits.
