The Opportunity:
Caraway is looking for a Sr. Manager, FP&A, to join our growing finance team of 4. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will help maintain and update our financial model, supporting the executive team in forecasting the business and strategic planning. As our Finance team and function as a whole is still developing and actively evolving, the Sr. Manager, FP&A plays a pivotal role in continuously optimizing and evolving the forecasting and budgeting processes. Our close-knit team is still in an exciting stage of growth and this person will be instrumental in designing scalable and sustainable planning processes.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and passionate financial professional who is accountable and detail oriented. This individual will work just as closely with our internal teams as with our vendors and customers, and is excited about building those relationships. You love problem solving and are meticulous in your day to day work. You operate comfortably in ambiguity, are a proactive self-starter, and excited by creating processes. You are unafraid to tackle problems without an instruction manual in front of you. You communicate effectively and are able to seamlessly translate financial information with cross functional stakeholders and leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Own rolling monthly product sales forecasts along with three statement financial model
- Update forecasts for planned promotions and new production launches, proactively identifying risks and opportunities on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as needed
- Own, monitor, and maintain optimal inventory investments and levels leveraging data and insights from the operations stakeholders to ensure informed decision making
- Lead a proactive feedback loop of updates to the sales forecast model by channel and product by partnering with the growth stakeholders; develop cross-functional workflow and cadence to support an optimal update process
- Develop and lead the process to update cost assumptions and analyze actual results on a regular cadence, leveraging support from operations stakeholders and the VP of Finance, as needed
- Support the VP of Finance in the execution of the annual budgeting process to ensure timely completion with VP Finance and budget owners
- Support the finalization of the month end close process by analyzing performance vs. budget results; identify discrepancies, gaps, or inconsistencies prior to closing the month and report findings to internal stakeholders
- Support VP Finance in scenario planning through partnership and collaboration
- Ad hoc financial analysis and modeling as needed
Knowledge, skill, and abilities:
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and forecasting
- 3+ years of experience at a DTC/e-commerce with physical product/inventory
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- Experience in Amazon and Retail, preferred
- Proficiency in financial software including, ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, experience with Fulfil preferred
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Looker, strongly preferred
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with ability to confidently re-prioritize a growing to-do list
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within and across departments
- Highly detail oriented and a proactive problem-solver
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $135,000 - $155,000 - Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors determining the base pay at offer, including but not limited to: skills, qualifications, experience. This range provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
